Buick’s Electra-L Concepts Are Turning Heads in China

Buick just revealed two new electric concept vehicles at the Beijing Auto Show, and they’re making quite the impression. The Electra L sedan and Electra LT (a lifted wagon with a bit more adventurous flair) are both fully electric and designed for the Chinese market.

Built on GM’s Ultium platform, these concepts showcase Buick’s vision for the future, with each boasting luxurious interiors and a projected driving range of over 435 miles (700 km). While they’re still in the concept phase, both models are likely to hit production in the near future. It’s safe to say Buick is pushing boundaries with these sleek designs.

I still prefer the Avista! I'm really disappointed with the quality of the bodywork on this car. The transitions between the panels are really bad, especially around the front wheel and door area. The lines are too soft and there are sharp edges everywhere. And what's going on with the rocker panel? It looks like a complete mess! I expected a lot better from a car like this.

It’s disappointing to hear about the panel transitions on the Electra-L concepts. The Avista definitely had that sleek, cohesive look that stood out. based on what you’re saying, it sounds like the design might need more refinement. I haven’t seen them up close yet though.

It’s surprising, too, since Buick has been hyping these models as their future vision. Hopefully, they’ll clean up those details before they hit production. Have you seen anything else about the concepts that caught your eye? 🤔

Hmmm the designs are seriously impressive, but honestly, it’s pretty unlikely we’ll see them land in the U.S. anytime soon.
Still, cars like these could be just what Buick needs to shake up its image and start attracting a younger, more diverse crowd, rather than sticking with the same older folks they've been catering to.
It’s kinda a missed chance to freshen up the brand and grab a bigger audience.
